NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC – ‘Further’

Scale a glacier, walk on Mars, travel to ancient Rome and then bust a drug ring. So happy to see the official National Geographic broadcast idents, directed by The Panics’ Erwin van den IJssel, go live today.

These stunning idents were born from some of NatGeo’s most popular content. By finding contrast and connections between worlds that are years – sometimes even lightyears – apart, each ident explores different themes from the channel’s rich programming in order to take you ‘Further’.

In this series of idents, I functioned as CG Supervisor. I’ve been responsible for leading the 3D team in the creation of these full CG environments and CG assets. Along with leading the team, I’ve created the full CG glacier environment, elements for the CG underwater world and CG elements for the harbor environment.
This spans across modeling, rigging, texturing, animation, lighting rendering and comp.
